Food Pantry

About the Pantry . . .

The Neighbor to Neighbor Food Pantry, established in 2003, is a non-profit ministry of Good Samaritan Community Covenant Church. Our continuing goal is to help provide emergency food, hope and encouragement to the hungry and disadvantaged of Calaveras County. From the beginning, our pantry's philosophy has been based upon a no limitations/no exclusions policy. Our patrons are encouraged to utilize our services as often as needed. Our doors are open each Saturday between the hours of 9AM and 11AM.

In addition to our regular weekly food distribution, we are joined on the fourth Saturday of each month by our Clothed In Love Ministry (which provides free clothes for all ages) and also by a group of volunteers who prepare a free pancake breakfast for all to enjoy. The holidays are also a special time for us as we provide dinner gift baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas gifts for the children of our pantry families.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Donate Time - Donating your time to help assemble and distribute bags of food is a valuable way in which you can help. Donating a few hours a month will provide you with the rewarding opportunity to help people in our community. You will find that few other experiences leave you with such a tremendous sense of fulfillment and gratitude.

Donate $$$ - Your financial gift in any amount will go directly to purchasing food for area families, helping to ensure that all who seek assistance will be provided with an emergency three-day supply of food. All donations are tax deductible.

Donate Food - Our "Food of the Month" program is designed to target specific food types that may be in short supply in the pantry.  Donations can be dropped off in the donation barrels in the lobby of both the sanctuary and the Family Life Center.

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink I was a stranger and you invited me in."  Matthew 25:35
